Luka Sukovic has been named the AJHL’s Most Valuable Player and Top Forward as voted on by all 11 teams in the league.
Sukovic lead the entire league with 35 goals paired with 32 assists for third place in league scoring, only 2 points away from tying for first place.
Luka has been physically dominant every time he’s hit the ice this year explained Pontiacs associate general manager Neil Langridge.
“He was a man on a mission when he came back after a very impressive offseason and he never looked back,” said Langridge.
Sukovic becomes the fourth Pontiac in franchise history (32 years) to be crowned with the MVP honor, following Yaks legends Harry York [93-94], Mark Letestu [05-06], and Bobby Mcmann [15-16].
All three went on to obtain the ultimate goal of playing in the National Hockey League. Luka was also bestowed the league award for Top Forward which is also voted on by all 11teams.
Langridge said, “I believe these awards go hand in hand. If they are successful in winning the MVP and they are a forward, then it’s a natural progression.
“We could not be happier for Luka to be getting the much deserved recognition and are excited for what the future holds for him!”
