Airdrie & Bonnyville Spring Camps
April 4th – 6th (Bonnyville) & April 25th – 27th (Airdrie)
With the unique location of Bonnyville, we want to provide prospects with two feasible options based on availability and travel. Our annual Spring Camps will be held April 4th to April 6th in Bonnyville at the RJ Lalonde Arena with a second camp on April 25th to 27th in Airdrie, Alberta.
All teams at our Development Camps will receive at least four ice sessions with players having a scheduled exit meeting with a Pontiac staff member on Sunday to receive constructive feedback on their performance from camp. We believe it is our obligation to ensure that we provide the players with our personal thoughts on their individual performance to enhance their personal development.
The Pontiacs current roster has 11 active players that attended Spring camp sometime in the last 2 seasons. Making an AJHL team starts with impressing at Spring Camp.
Providing two dates allows prospects two options for availability. The camp in Bonnyville allows prospects to play in the RJ Lalonde Arena and have a first-hand experience of seeing the facilities, dressing room, new overhead scoreboard and all the town of Bonnyville has to offer. This is an in – depth look at what the future could look like to be a Bonnyville Pontiac.
Having the camp in Airdrie allows prospects specifically from Southern Alberta or players who may come from long distances the chance to attend a Pontiac Camp in a more accessible location. As an organization we do not want to miss a prospect or miss providing a positive experience due to our location.
We project that not all prospects will make the jump to Junior Hockey this year, but we understand that starting a positive relationship goes a long way when as a player you are ready to play junior ‘A’ Hockey. As such, these camps are also a great opportunity for younger prospects to come and stress test their skills while getting critical feedback by Junior A staff to aid in their future development.
